Our reader Noah points us to a handy reference guide over at the website of Huddersfield Cloth (an English cloth merchant). This 24-page guide covers all the basics of traditional textiles. There’s a glossary for fabric terms, an explanation of the difference between worsteds and woolens, and a couple of pages on what determines fabric durability. They even have a section describing the different breeds of sheep that give us wool (the UK Wensleydale looks very huggable).
