I’ve been back in Moscow for the last month. A couple of weeks ago, I saw a gentleman near the Kremlin wearing a tan linen suit with just a hint of olive green in its color. He was carrying a dark brown alligator skinned briefcase, somewhat like the one above, and had stopped on his way to wherever he was going to look at a listing of ballet performances for that week (they happen often here, and are quite cheap to attend). It was a pretty fantastic sight, especially since many of the men near the Kremlin aren’t particularly well dressed (though the women here never fail to look less than incredibly sharp).
