I had two titles prepared for this post.
“How to Dress for a Successful Green Card Interview”
“How to Dress if You Want to Get Deported”
After decades of being in limbo, I’m very happy to report that I can write this with the first title.
Oh and the answer? Grey trousers, white dress shirt, navy socks, dark brown oxford cap toes, and my father’s 1968 Rolex Oyster for good luck. Readers might be surprised to see that I didn’t wear a tie or sport coat. Frankly, I was worried that I would be more formal looking than my interviewer, so I decided to stick with something very simple.
Looks like it worked out OK.
