It’s been an eventful year for Chester Mox. Bellanie – who co-owns the company with her husband – recently graduated from an apprenticeship with a renowned leathergoods maker. She and her husband also just opened their first brick-and-mortar store. It’s a storefront that doubles as their workshop, and it’s located in Monterey Park (in Los Angeles county) at 617 S. Atlantic Blvd, Unit B. Customers can stop by to check out some of Chester Mox’s goods in-person, or go over any ideas for bespoke commissions.
To celebrate their opening, they’re offering a 25% discount on all non-custom orders with the checkout code GRANDOPEN. The discount is good from March 9th until the 16th.
Bellanie actually loaned me one of their new briefcases and wallets last year to check out. Chester Mox still offers affordable wallets for $45, but now they also have higher-end goods that compete with the likes of luxury companies. All of their products are now fully hand saddle-stitched, and Bellanie’s technique is very good. Her stitching is durable and handsome, and the edges of her products are all beautifully finished. The leathers also come from some of the best tanneries in the world. These Barenia and Shrunken Calf leathers, for instance, are also used by Hermes.
As usual, prices are also very competitive. For example, they have fully handstitched briefcases that sell for less than Filson’s machine-stitched ones. You can also contact them for any custom orders (literally anything can be designed). Pictured above are some images of the new shop, as well as some custom wallets, briefcases, and purses that were recently made.
