Kodachrome OCBD: William Eggleston

The Impossible Cool recently posted this really really cool photo of really really cool photographer William Eggleston, who is broadly credited with making color photography acceptable in the fine art world. Previously art photographers worked primarily in black and white, and color was regarded as cheap; not for serious work. But could black and white really capture the golden light on the leaves in this photo? Eggleston, a Southerner, is wearing a casual, relatively full OCBD, sleeves rolled, and stone, double pleated, cotton (maybe linen?), relatively long rise pants. Comfortable. Cool. Nice Leica, too.

We’ve featured Eggleston before as a good example of what to wear in the fall. Looks like he has a handle on spring as well.
