Another great photo from our friend CrimsonSox. Scanned from a 1948 issue of Vogue, the gentleman above is wearing a suit by Gennaro Rome and custom shoes from Gatto. Supposedly, King Alfonso XIII of Spain once said: “In Rome, there are two wonders: the Sistine Chapel and Gatto’s workshop.” The founder of Gatto unfortunately died many years ago and the company was sold to Lattanzi (another high-end Italian shoemaker). You can sometimes find their creations on eBay.
