I was at the Santa Monica flea market this weekend, enjoying a little time away from the family, and I ran into the folks behind the menswear shop Olden Grey.
It’s rare to find a vendor who specializes in menswear, and the Olden Grey folks do a great job. Don’t think swing-era gabardines, union-made coveralls or selvage Levi’s for OG, think 90s Polo and trad-ish sportcoats from regional haberdashers like LA’s Carrol & Company. I myself bought a beautiful Robert Talbott knit tie for twenty bucks – not quite cheap, but certainly reasonable. The selection’s solid and the service is friendly.
If you’re at the Rose Bowl or Santa Monica flea, look out for the booth, and if you’re not in Southern California, you can browse online.
